In Crimea, they started harvesting late vegetables of the «borscht set» and potatoes

This year, agricultural organizations, peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs sowed 5.9 thousand hectares of vegetables and 3 thousand hectares of potatoes in the open field.

Now farmers in almost all regions of the republic are busy harvesting late vegetables of the «borscht set»: beets, carrots, onions and potatoes. Literally in two weeks they will begin to harvest white cabbage. The largest areas of these vegetables are in Dzhankoysky, Krasnogvardeisky and Krasnoperekopsky districts. Since the beginning of the year, agricultural producers, farms and individual entrepreneurs have already collected about 15 thousand tons of vegetable crops in the open field and 24 thousands of tons of potatoes , — quotes the press service of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea Andrey Savchuk.

The Minister of Agriculture of Crimea specified that more than 5 thousand tons of cabbage have already been harvested in the fields of the republic, of which 1.3 thousand tons have been harvested in agricultural organizations, 2.3 thousand tons of beets have been harvested, in agricultural organizations — 851 ton, carrots — 6.7 thousand tons, in agricultural organizations — 2.9 thousand tons and onions — more than 12 thousand tons, of which more than 02 thousand tons collected in agricultural organizations.

These crops are grown by both large enterprises and smaller peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs. For example, in the Dzhankoy district, the head of the K (F) Kh Chelebiev K.A., who is one of the largest agricultural producers of the Crimea, this year grows carrots on 70 hectares, beets per 12 hectares and potatoes per 100 hectares. Now the farmer’s fields are harvesting potatoes, about 2.5 thousand tons have already been harvested. All vegetables of the «borscht set» harvested in the Crimean fields will be sold in the markets and shops of the peninsula, as well as at agricultural fairs. The Crimean Ministry of Agriculture regularly provides support to enterprises that grow vegetables and potatoes. For example, this year, agricultural producers received assistance for agrotechnological work at a rate per 1 hectare. Allocated for potatoes , 5 million rubles, for open ground vegetables 15 million rubles.
