A storm warning was announced in the Republic of Crimea due to showers, thunderstorms, hail and strong winds on June 15-16. These conditions can provoke a rise in water in rivers to dangerous levels and flooding of areas, it is reported on website Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region.
Due to the formation of a southern cyclone, rains are expected in Crimea on June 15 and 16, heavy showers in places (30-50 mm), thunderstorms, and during thunderstorms, squally winds of 15-20 m/s, hail. On the rivers of the northern foothills and southern coast of Crimea, water levels are expected to rise by 0.5-1.5 meters without reaching dangerous levelsthe message says.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations clarified that there is also a possibility of incidents occurring in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas and the Kerch Strait. Residents were warned against going into the coastal zone, piers and shore protection structures.
