In Dzhankoy, a thief got into the habit of “working” in a cemetery. He will take a two-year break from his “profession.”
CrimeaPRESS reports:
In Dzhankoy, a previously convicted local resident went to a colony for committing a series of thefts. A 36-year-old man was found guilty of committing 6 episodes of crimes under Part 1, paragraph “a”, Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft).
The court found that in April last year the defendant, while in the Dzhankoy district park, stole a coniferous tree seedling. In May 2023, the convict and another man, who had previously been convicted, committed 5 thefts of metal gates and fencing elements from burial sites in a cemetery located near the village of Zavet-Leninsky— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the defendant to 2 years of imprisonment to be served in a maximum security correctional colony. The verdict did not enter into legal force.
