On July 5, in Kerch, the Golden Treasury will be opened for visitors, located in the building of the Museum of Antiquities in the city center (Sverdlov St., 22). She will receive guests during the season twice a week — on Wednesdays and Fridays.
You can visit the «Golden Pantry» on Wednesdays and Fridays as part of excursion groups, which will be formed near the museum’s ticket office and consist of 5-10 people. Tour times: at 10.00, 11.00, 12.00 and 13.00. Duration — 45 minutes— reports the press service of the East Crimean Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.
In the «Golden Pantry» you can see what kind of jewelry was worn by fashionistas of the first centuries of our era, what was minted on Panticapaeum and Bosporan coins. It will also tell you what values the inhabitants of the ancient Bosporus and medieval Kerch put aside for a rainy day.
Visitors have a unique opportunity to try to unravel the mysteries of the Bosporan treasures, which occupy a central place in the numismatic section of the exposition. Among them is a hoard of electric coins — kizikins, minted in the Asia Minor city of Cyzicus. There are also exhibited gold and silver coins of the local Bosporan coinage, including those with the image of a griffin, which has become the winged symbol of modern Kerch, as well as coins of the great rulers — Alexander the Great and Mithridates VI Eupator— noted in the museum.
Ticket price: adult — 400 rubles, children (under 16) — 200 rubles. They are sold at the checkout. Museum of Antiquities. The Zolotaya Kladovaya will receive guests during the holiday season. After that, it will be possible to visit it only by special requests.
