In Evpatoria — a conference dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the creation of Krymchak settlements in the Crimea

The purpose of the conference, dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the creation of Krymchak settlements in Crimea, the organizers of the event note, is to draw attention to the problem of preserving the historical and cultural heritage of the Krymchak people, as well as the generation of new historical and local history information for the Crimeans and specialists in the field of Crimean studies.
The event takes place at two venues — in the reading room of the library. A.S. Pushkin and in the Evpatoria Museum of Local Lore. Participants make presentations “Krymchak village Yeni-Krymchak 1920-1944”, “Krymchaks in agriculture in the periods of 1843-1854, 1927-1942”, “Yeni-Krymchak village after 1944”, “Settlement of Raatlyka Evpatoria district of Tauride province of 1843”, “Jewish collective farms in the Crimea”, “Religious establishments of Karasu-Bazaar for Evpatoria”. The conference program also includes a visit to the former prayer house of the Krymchaks.
The conference is attended by Chairman of the State Committee for Interethnic Relations of the Republic of Crimea Ayder Tippa, Head of the Department of Culture and Interethnic Relations Natalya Salapura, Chairman of the Crimean Society of Krymchaks «Kyrymchahlar» Dora Pirkova, representatives of public organizations and national cultural associations of the city.
It is very pleasant that we have the opportunity to attend a conference dedicated to one of the most ancient peoples of the Crimea, in one of its oldest cities — Evpatoria, where the traditions of many ethnic groups living on the territory of the peninsula are preserved and preserved. The city attaches great importance to interethnic and interfaith harmony— Aider Tippa notes the events.
In turn, Dora Pirkova, speaking to the audience, thanked the library management for providing a platform for the conference and donated to the institution books by famous Krymchaks and poets Alexander Tkachenko and Ilya Borokhov, a historical and ethnographic essay by Igor Achkinazi «Krymchaks», as well as those published in Krymchak language.
