In Evpatoria, a drunk driver tried to “pay off” inspectors
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At night in Yevpatoria, road patrol officers stopped a Lexus car driven by a 45-year-old local resident who showed signs of intoxication.
For failure to bring administrative responsibility, the driver persistently offered traffic police officers an illegal monetary reward. It was explained to the driver that her actions were illegal and subject to criminal liability, but the woman ignored the warning and left 15,000 rubles in the patrol car.
For further investigation, an investigative team was called to the scene, which recorded the fact of an attempt to bribe traffic police inspectors— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
State Traffic Inspectorate officers suspended the driver from driving and offered to undergo a medical examination. The readings from the Drager Breathalyzer device were 0.60 mg of alcohol per liter of exhaled air, which is 3 times higher than the norm.
A protocol was drawn up against the driver under Part 1 of Art. 12.8 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Driving a car while intoxicated). The vehicle was placed in a temporary detention parking lot. The materials collected by the police officers were sent to the investigative authorities for making a procedural decision.
