The Beach Thief will miss one season “due to technical reasons.”
The Evpatoria prosecutor’s office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a local resident. The court found him guilty under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (theft).
It was established that at the end of August 2023, a local resident on the city’s beaches, taking advantage of the lack of attention from strangers, stole women’s handbags containing expensive mobile phones, cash, jewelry and bank cards. The damage caused to two victims amounted to more than 140 thousand rubles and was compensated by the defendant— reported the prosecutor’s office.
Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court sentenced the man to 1 year in prison to serve the sentence in a maximum security correctional colony.
