In Evpatoria, Epiphany ablutions took place on the Oasis beach

One of the main Orthodox holidays – Epiphany – was celebrated in Yevpatoria. Services and prayers for the blessing of water were held in the city’s churches. After which traditional swimming took place on the Oasis beach.
The dean of the Evpatoria church district, Archpriest Alexander Dvornikov, conducted the rite of blessing the sea water, after which the believers began to gradually enter the winter sea. Despite the cold wind, there were quite a lot of people who wanted to take a plunge. People of different ages entered the water: men, women and even children. At the same time, the sea water temperature was 8°C— reported in Department of Public Relations and Media of the Evpatoria City Administration.
The safety of swimming was ensured by rescue divers and medical workers. Everyone could warm up with hot tea and have a snack. There were also tents set up on the beach where you could change clothes and leave your things.
