CrimeaPRESS reports:

As part of the “Motorcyclist” preventive measures, from June 5 to June 14, 2023, employees of the Yevpatoriya State Traffic Inspectorate conduct mass checks of motorized transport drivers in order to prevent accidents on the roads.

On the very first day of the operation, inspectors documented 8 traffic violations committed by drivers of motor vehicles, including one fact of driving a moped by a driver in a state of intoxication.

On June 5, in the village of Zaozernoye, traffic police officers were on duty to supervise traffic. At about 8:30 pm, an employee of the State traffic inspectorate stopped the Reflex moped, driven by a 43-year-old resident of the Saki district, who was driving a vehicle without a helmet. During the verification of documents, the fact that the driver was in a state of intoxication was established.

In addition, it turned out that in 2022 he was already involved in drunk driving and was deprived of the right to drive vehicles. The driver refused the demand of the police officers to undergo a medical examination. In relation to the violator, administrative materials were drawn up under Art. 12.6 (driving a moped without a helmet) and Art. 12.7 part 2 (driving a vehicle, being deprived of the right to drive)— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.

The vehicle was taken to a parking lot. For repeated driving while intoxicated (or refusing to undergo a medical examination), a man faces criminal liability under Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. In the meantime, by the decision of the Evpatoria City Court, the unfortunate driver was found guilty of committing an administrative violation under Art. 12.7 h. 2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation and he was sentenced to a fine in the amount of 30 thousand rubles.
