The Feodosia prosecutor’s office supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a local resident. He was found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules by a person driving a car, resulting in the death of a person through negligence).
It was established that on July 14, 2023, in the evening, the defendant, driving a Hyundai Solaris car in the village of Beregovoye, lost control and caused a collision with a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway from left to right relative to the movement of the car. The woman died at the scene from her injuries.— reported the prosecutor’s office.
The court, taking into account the position of the prosecutor, sentenced the man to 2 years in prison with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 2 years. The convicted person will serve his sentence in a penal colony. The court satisfied the civil claims of the victim’s relatives for a total amount of over 2 million rubles in compensation for moral damage.
