In Feodosia, a verdict was passed in the case of theft from elderly citizens of more than three million rubles

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Feodosia, the city court issued a verdict in a criminal case against six residents of the region. They were found guilty under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud). It was established that the defendants were members of an organized group engaged in theft of funds from pensioners.

The defendants called citizens and provided false information about their relatives committing an accident with serious consequences, as well as the need to transfer funds to compensate for the damage caused. Having received consent, the defendants came to the victims, received money from them, which was transferred to the accounts specified by the organizers. They kept part of the money for themselves as a reward— the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Crimea revealed details.

22 pensioners suffered from the actions of these persons and suffered damages amounting to more than 3 million rubles.

The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the defendants to various terms of imprisonment from 1 year 3 months to 7 years 3 months to be served in general and strict regime correctional colonies. The criminal investigation against the remaining members of the organized group continues.
