In Feodosia, they spent 7 hours extinguishing a fire in dry vegetation

The day before at noon a signal was received about a fire in the area of the village of Yuzhnoye. To extinguish the fire, employees of the fire department of the urban-type settlement of Ordzhonikidze, the urban-type settlement of Koktebel of the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea», the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the forestry and hunting department were dispatched.
Upon arrival, it turned out that dry vegetation was burning in an open area in a hilly area. The situation was complicated by a strong, gusty wind. There was a risk of the fire spreading to nearby vacationers’ cars. Firefighters deployed and extinguished the fire on an area of 2.5 hectares within 7 hours. The fire did not spread further. There were no casualties, the cause is being investigated, — the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in Crimea reported.
In total, 18 people and 5 units of equipment were deployed from the RSChS to extinguish the fire. Of these, 7 people and 2 units of equipment were from the State Institution of the Republic of Crimea «Fire Protection of the Republic of Crimea».

It is strictly prohibited:
- make fires, burn waste, burn dry grass, garbage, burn stubble, crop residues and make fires in fields and forests;
- leave containers with flammable and combustible liquids or gas cylinders in open areas and courtyards;
- use fire-resistant distances between buildings and structures for storing construction materials;
- throwing away burning matches and cigarette butts.
- leave self-igniting material or glassware in the forest, which in sunny weather can focus the sun’s rays and ignite dry vegetation.
