In July, the number of missing people grew in Crimea
Krympress reports:
According to him, by the middle of the month 27 appeals were already received. 20 people were found alive, one died, still six continue to search.
Zuyanov said that the main reasons for the surge of calls in the summer are an increase in the number of tourists in the region, children left unattended during the holidays, elderly people with memory problems, as well as limited accessibility of GPS and communications in natural areas.
The amount of minors in the summer, unfortunately, increases. A child unattended is a great reason for fears in our difficult time, so the reaction to such applications is lightning fast. As a rule, these are city stories, but there are times when children can go on an independent campaign, go to another village through the forest. So they are lost— said the head of the detachment.
Work in forests and mountains is a separate difficult case. According to Zuyanov, in such conditions a weak signal of communication and interruptions in the work of GPS interferes, which is especially dangerous for the elderly. The head of the volunteers advises using simple GPS trackers sewn in clothes, and not rely solely on technology.
In the case of an unknown person, the detachment uses the so -called “reverse search” — the identification of a person and the establishment of his relatives. One of the last such cases ended successfully: passers -by drew attention to an elderly man with disoriented behavior, called the police, and later it turned out that they were looking for him.
“Search of Crimea” also conducts educational work with children and adolescents in schools and camps, reminding about algorithms for behavior in case of loss of orientation.
We teach both children and volunteers. How to navigate without GPS, how to use a compass and maps, how to report a route on a hike is basics that can save life, ”Zuyanov noted.
He also asked everyone to be more attentive in transport and public places — to raise their eyes from the phone and notice the child, grandmother or any other person in need of help in time.
In May reportedThat rescuers and volunteers for eight hours were looking for a man with a child who were lost in the mountainous zone of the Simferopol district. The situation was also complicated by the fact that there was no telephone connection with the missing man.
