In Kerch, a drunk driver drove into a public transport stop

According to preliminary data, on January 16 at 23:35 in Kerch on the street. Marshal Eremenko in the area of house 9, a driver born in 1966, driving a VAZ 2109 car, moving from the Vokzalnaya highway in the direction of the bus station, lost control, drove off the roadway and hit an obstacle (stop complex), after which on a bench for rest in the pedestrian area.
As a result of the accident, the vehicle and elements of the city infrastructure were damaged; the driver refused hospitalization. Upon arrival at the scene of the accident, traffic police inspectors determined that the man was intoxicated by external signs and offered to undergo a medical examination, which the man refused. The police checked the man through the traffic police database and found out that he had previously been deprived of the right to drive vehicles for failure to comply with the driver’s requirement to undergo a medical examination for intoxication.— the details of the incident were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Crimea.
In relation to the driver, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Kerch drew up a number of administrative protocols, namely: under Part 1 of Art. 12.37 (Failure to comply with the requirements for compulsory civil liability insurance of vehicle owners), under Part 4 of Art. 12.15 (Violation of the rules for positioning a vehicle on the roadway, oncoming traffic or overtaking) and under Art. 12.33 Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Damage to roads, railway crossings or other road structures). The vehicle was seized and placed in a specialized parking lot.
The issue of initiating a criminal case under Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated by a person subject to administrative punishment or having a criminal record).
