CrimeaPRESS reports:

As a result of operational-search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kerch, without delay, identified an accomplice of telephone scammers. She turned out to be a 25-year-old resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The girl said that she found a part-time job on the Internet and, on the instructions of her “curator,” came to Kerch. The girl was supposed to take the money from the specified addresses, and then put it into the bank account of the scammers, leaving herself a percentage of the proceeds. After completing one order, the suspect got scared and decided to abandon the “criminal” work without sending the money received to the specified details. On the way home, the attacker was detained by law enforcement officers at the Kerch stationary checkpoint. She admitted her involvement in the crime and voluntarily returned the stolen funds,” noted the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

The Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kerch opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Fraud”. The sanction of the article provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of up to 5 years. The suspect was taken into custody.
