In Kerch, a minor boy stole a car — he decided to go for a ride
CrimeaPRESS reports:
A local resident contacted the Kerch police and reported that his VAZ-2107 car had been stolen by an unknown person. The young man explained that some time ago he had left his vehicle in a garage cooperative, specifying that the door lock on the driver’s side was faulty.
As a result of operational and investigative activities, the criminal investigation officers found the car in the city. The person who committed the illegal activity was also identified; it turned out to be a 16-year-old resident of Kerch, who did not deny his guilt and told the police that he saw an unlocked vehicle and decided to ride in the courtyards. The investigation department of the Kerch UMVD of Russia opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Illegal seizure of a car or other vehicle without the purpose of theft), — the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea reported.
The offender could face a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison. The suspect has been ordered not to leave the area.
