In Kerch — a set of measures aimed at reducing road accidents

In October 2023, employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Kerch will carry out a number of operational and preventive measures to identify and suppress violations of the Traffic Rules, which are the main causes of accidents.
Since the beginning of 2023, 66 road accidents with casualties have occurred in Kerch, resulting in 10 deaths and 73 road users receiving injuries of varying severity.
According to the accident rate analysis, the main causes of road accidents were violations of the Road Traffic Rules, such as failure to comply with the order of passage, inconsistency of speed with specific conditions, violation of the rules for passing pedestrian crossings and violation of the rules for crossing the roadway by pedestrians. In addition, this year there were 9 accidents involving drivers driving while intoxicated, as a result of which 1 person died and another 11 were injured.
In this regard, State Traffic Inspectorate employees will carry out a number of operational and preventive measures aimed at preventing road safety and reducing the severity of the consequences of an accident, namely:
- from October 20 to October 22, 2023 “Drunk Driver”;
- from October 23 to October 28, 2023 “Attention! A pedestrian!».
As part of ongoing operational and preventive measures and campaigns aimed at preventing road accidents and mutually polite behavior of road users, traffic police units will be close to accident-prone areas, and immediate administrative measures will be taken against violators.
