In Kerch, the court delivered a verdict in a criminal case against a local resident. He was found guilty of committing crimes under paragraphs. «a», «b», «c» part 4 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation by a person driving a car of the rules of the road, negligently resulting in the death of a person, by a person deprived of the right to drive vehicles in a state of intoxication, coupled with leaving the place of its commission), art. 125 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (leaving in danger).
The court established that on January 18, 2023, the driver of a BMW car, being deprived of a driver’s license, lost control, hit a decorative arch located on the territory of one of the squares in the area of ul. General Petrov, as well as two minors born in 2014 and 2015. The man fled the scene, the car was discovered by police officers, the identity of the accused was quickly established.
As a result of a traffic accident, two children were injured, who were hospitalized in a healthcare facility. A few days later, one of the victims died from his injuries.the prosecutor’s office said.

The prosecutor of Kerch removed the criminal case from the proceedings of the internal affairs bodies and transferred it to the investigative department for the city of Kerch of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. At the request of the city prosecutor’s office, a criminal case was initiated under Art. 125 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (leaving in danger).
The Kerch City Court, agreeing with the position of the public prosecutor, sentenced the man to 6 years and 4 months in prison to be served in a colony-settlement. He is deprived of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 2 years and 6 months. It should be noted that Denis Kulebyanov, the prosecutor of Kerch, asked the court to sentence the defendant to 8 years and 6 months in prison in a penal colony with deprivation of the right to drive vehicles for a period of 2 years and 11 months.
