In Kerch, fraudulent developers scammed 12 million rubles from customers. Of course nothing was built

In Kerch, law enforcement officers stopped the activities of a criminal organization engaged in the construction of houses.

Employees of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kerch detained suspects who, acting by prior conspiracy, fraudulently stole property of citizens on a large scale— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

It has been previously established that the criminal business was organized in March 2023. The general director of the organization, under the leadership of his mentor and leader of the criminal organization, rented premises for an office in which they entered into contracts for the construction of residential and non-residential buildings. By deceiving and abusing the trust of citizens, they received money from customers in the form of advances, but did not carry out construction work.

According to preliminary estimates, the amount of damage was about 12 million rubles. During searches at the place of residence and work of the suspects, police seized various documentation of evidentiary value.

The investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kerch opened four criminal cases on the grounds of a crime under Part 4 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud), which were combined into one proceeding. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years with a fine of up to one million rublesnoted the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.

The leader of the criminal community was given a preventive measure in the form of detention, and the court chose house arrest for the head of the organization.
