CrimeaPRESS reports:
Since the beginning of the year, 66 road accidents with casualties have occurred in Kerch, as a result of which 10 people died and 73 road users received injuries of varying severity.
According to the accident rate analysis, the main causes of road accidents were violations of the Road Traffic Rules, such as failure to comply with the order of passage, inconsistency of speed with specific conditions, violation of the rules for passing pedestrian crossings and violation of the rules for crossing the roadway by pedestrians. In addition, this year there were 9 accidents involving drivers driving while intoxicated, as a result of which 1 person died and another 11 were injured— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Crimea.
Such statistics (among other things) became the reason that the State Traffic Inspectorate is carrying out a set of measures in Kerch aimed at reducing accidents. Namely:
- from October 20 to October 22, 2023 “Drunk Driver”;
- from October 23 to October 28, 2023 “Attention! A pedestrian!».
As part of ongoing operational and preventive measures and campaigns aimed at preventing road accidents and mutually polite behavior of road users, traffic police units will be close to accident-prone areas, and immediate administrative measures will be taken against violatorsnoted the traffic police.
