They also reminded about the importance of using reflective elements on clothes at night.
During the event, about 32 traffic violations committed by foot traffic participants were revealed. Administrative materials were drawn up against violators in accordance with Part 1 of Art. 12.29 of the Code of the Russian Federation on Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. 17 drivers were brought to administrative responsibility for failure to provide an advantage in traffic to pedestrians or other traffic participants. Preventive work was also carried out with them.
State traffic inspectors reminded drivers that, in accordance with the Rules of the Road, pedestrians, when crossing the carriageway, have an advantage over vehicles at pedestrian crossings marked with markings and signs. When approaching an unregulated pedestrian crossing, the driver must slow down and, if necessary, stop to allow pedestrians to pass and allow them to safely complete the road crossing. You should be extremely careful near educational and medical institutions.
At the same time, the Rules of the Road for pedestrians define the requirement to enter the carriageway in order to cross it, only after first assessing the distance to approaching vehicles, their speed and making sure that the crossing is completely safe.
The police appeal to residents and visitors of the city not to remain indifferent to the problems of road safety and, if necessary, to make their own contribution: to stop a child who was about to cross the road in the wrong place or to help an elderly person safely cross the roadway.
