Krympress reports:
Crimean Federal University was visited by the director of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Kirill Logvinov. As part of the visit, he met with students and teachers of the Department of Political Sciences and International Relations of the Tauride Academy.
The meeting participants discussed topical issues of the activities of international organizations, foreign policy of Russia, as well as the role of domestic diplomacy in modern international relations.
We are witnesses of a turning point in the history of mankind. It was unlikely that this could be predicted 10-15 years ago, but the moment is historical, and the world development will depend on where humanity will turn. Now the active phase of the formation of new centers of political, economic, social forces is underway, there is a redistribution of influence in the world, in particular, the role of the world majority in solving the tasks that today faces humanity. This is a difficult process for countries that are commonly called a Western minority, even quite painful. It is no secret that in recent decades it was the West that largely determined the development of certain world processes, and now the prospect of loss of this dominance is not pleased,-quoted the press service of the university, director of the Department of International Organizations of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Kirill Logvinov.
During the meeting, Kirill Logvinov shared his professional experience, spoke about the specifics of the diplomat and answered students’ questions regarding various aspects of international activity.
I consider it necessary to maintain students’ interest in foreign policy, in what is happening in the world. We, employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are designed to suggest, tell, answer questions that interest our youth. Today’s students are those who will form the foreign policy of the Russian Federation tomorrow, those who continue to defend the interests of our country in the international arena, so such meetings are a contribution to our future— shared Cyril Logvinov.
The meeting was also taken by the chairman of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Simferopol Artyom Berezovsky, the first vice -rector — Vice -Rector for International Activities and Information Policy of the KFU named after V.I. Vernadsky Sergey Yurchenko, as well as employees of the Department of International Activities of the University.
At our university, there is a tradition of inviting specialists from the corresponding sphere in order for them to communicate with our students and talk about those prospects that are associated with further employment. Such an exchange of experience is useful for both our students and teachers, and for employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They should see the faces of those students who, after some period of time, will implement the foreign policy of our country— notes Sergey Yurchenko.
According to the organizers, students’ meetings with representatives of relevant ministries and departments are held on a regular basis.
