In Koktebel, ambulance doctors saved a drowning woman

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The count went on for minutes.

The operational dispatch department of the Feodosiya ambulance station received a call to the beach in the village of Koktebel to a 35-year-old woman with the reason “drowning”.

An ambulance brigade of substation No. 18 was immediately sent to the call, consisting of paramedic Viktor Pleshivtsev and driver Viktor Rakhmanov— reported in the Crimean Republican Center for Disaster Medicine and Emergency Medicine.

After 9 minutes, the doctors were already at the scene, where, before the arrival of the ambulance, the victim was pumped out by rescuers. They said they noticed a young woman relaxing on the beach with a child who was drinking alcohol. And after a while they saw that she was swimming face down in the water. After being pulled out of the water, the woman was not breathing, so the rescuers began to provide first aid.

During the initial examination by an ambulance doctor, the woman was unconscious, but she was already breathing on her own, her blood pressure was stable, there was mixed shortness of breath, increased breathing, and critically low pulse oximetry values. To stabilize the condition, the paramedic ensured the patency of the upper respiratory tract and began intensive therapy. During the medical evacuation, continuous monitoring of vital signs was carried out. At the time of admission to the intensive care unit, the patient’s condition improved slightly — although she was still unconscious, but shortness of breath decreased and blood oxygen saturation increasedtold Crimean doctors.

This summer is not an isolated incident.

A similar case was recorded in the village of Ordzhonikidze (near Feodosia). A 37-year-old man while swimming in the sea was covered by a wave and he began to sink. Having exhausted himself, although he swallowed water, he was still able to draw attention to himself and call for help. Rescuers helped the man out of the water and called an ambulance. An ambulance brigade of substation No. 18 was sent to this call, consisting of paramedic Sergey Barmin and driver Igor Vdovchenko.

Before the arrival of the ambulance, the victim had vomited several times. During the examination, the paramedic found the patient had breathing problems — probably the water got into the lungs. Despite the apparent well-being, the patient’s condition caused concern. After providing respiratory support and infusion therapy, the man was hospitalized for further treatment and observation.— noted in the Center for Disaster Medicine.

Crimean doctors urge citizens to be careful and careful while relaxing at sea. Sea baths should only be taken in designated areas. And definitely do not drink alcohol on the beach.
