Posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
In Novorossiysk they said goodbye to the senior midshipman of the Navy, a Cossack from the Nevsky farm society, Denis Nikitin, who died while performing the tasks of a special military operation. As reported on website Black Sea District Cossack Society, the senior midshipman died heroically, saving his ship from being hit by an enemy drone. He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.
Denis Nikitin was born on February 18, 1981 in the city of Uzhur, Krasnoyarsk Territory, graduated from an educational institution and was called up for military service in the Black Sea Fleet. Then he trained as a midshipman and performed his duties in various positions at the Novorossiysk naval base.
The commander of the Black Sea Fleet landing boat, senior midshipman Denis Nikitin, died while repelling an attack by naval drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And although this is not officially reported, it is obvious that we are talking about an enemy attack on the morning of November 10th. Then, according to information Telegram channel “Rybar”, four enemy naval drones penetrated into Uzkaya Bay (in the west of Crimea), targeting the Black Sea Fleet boats stationed there. The attack was repelled, but not without losses…
Denis Nikitin was 42 years old, he connected his entire life with the sea, commanding the Project 11770 boat “Serna”. A wife and teenage daughters were left without a husband and father. Not only the authorities and the sailor’s comrades-in-arms, but also the Cossacks will take care of them.
Eternal memory to the Black Sea hero!
