Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova held the annual conference call meeting on the issue of preparing educational organizations for the beginning of the 2023/2024 academic year. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, Rospotrebnadzor, Rosobrnadzor, the Russian Guard and all regions.
The planned preparation of educational institutions for the new academic year in terms of integrated security, compliance with sanitary and epidemiological requirements and staffing is being completed in the regions— said Tatyana Golikova. — The school year will begin this year on September 1 for more than 18 million students in 40,000 schools, more than 6.9 million preschoolers in 33,000 kindergartens, and more than 2.6 million students in 3,000 colleges. Almost 2 million children will go to the first grade, the increase in the number of first graders was more than 8% compared to the last academic year.
As the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation noted, from September 1, all primary school students of all Russian schools will be provided with hot meals at the expense of the federal budget. The federal state system «My School» was created and implemented, which made it possible to provide the possibility of using educational and other education-related services through a single point of free access to digital educational services and the database of electronic educational resources. In addition, based on the developed unified model of vocational guidance for students in the new academic year, vocational guidance classes are introduced to help children choose their future profession.
Tatyana Golikova said that work continues to fulfill the instructions of the President of Russia to create at least 1,300 schools by the end of 2024 and to ensure 100% availability of preschool education by the end of 2023.
Within the framework of the national projects «Education» and «Demography», since 2019, 906 schools for 524.7 thousand places and 1633 kindergartens with a total capacity of 237.1 thousand places have been put into operation in 80 regionsthe Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation emphasized.
