In Saksky District, police returned a stolen car to the complainant

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A 35-year-old resident of the Saksky District contacted the Saksky Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia with a statement about the theft of her car. The woman reported that her former partner, who lives in Yevpatoriya, could have illegally taken possession of the vehicle. The victim said that the keys to the car were kept in her briefcase, which was in the bedroom, which the suspect took advantage of.

The prompt search measures allowed the stolen car to be found and returned to the victim on the spot. The vehicle was found in Yevpatoria in the courtyard of the house where the suspect lives. The 29-year-old Yevpatoria resident admitted his guilt in committing the crime.

The Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia «Saksky» opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Illegal seizure of a car without the purpose of theft». The offender may face a maximum punishment of up to 5 years in prison. A preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave was chosen for the suspect.
