During the winter holidays, in order to prevent emergencies and ensure the safety of the population, the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the city of Sevastopol works in an enhanced mode of service. On New Year’s Eve, units of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the city of Sevastopol made 6 combat trips. 2 calls turned out to be false. In two more cases, a short circuit of electric meters without subsequent burning was recorded. And 2 fires were extinguished.

At 00: 38 a fire in a car was reported to the operational duty shift of the crisis management center of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol near Generala Ostryakova street. The Sevastopol fire department was immediately sent to the place. Upon the arrival of the units, information about the fire was confirmed. Firefighters began to put out the flames. Within 10 minutes, the fire was extinguished on an area of ​​10 square meters. No dead, no injured. The causes and circumstances of the incident are being established , the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in Sevastopol reported.

Another fire was associated with smoldering garbage at a container site in the Gagarinsky district of the city. The fire was also extinguished in the shortest possible time. There were no reports of fires related to the use of pyrotechnic products.

In general, New Year’s Eve has become one of the calmest for Sevastopol rescuers in several years.
