In Sevastopol, a 68-year-old man was brought to justice for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

During the monitoring of the media and the Internet in one of the Telegram channels, police officers revealed a video in which the buyer, being in a store in Sevastopol, in the presence of a significant number of staff and visitors, expressed phrases aimed at discrediting the actions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the zone special military operation in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

Employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol and the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol detained a man and took him to the territorial body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As part of the check, the police collected a sufficient evidence base, interviewed eyewitnesses of the incident, seized videos confirming his involvement in the offensethe message says.

Interestingly, the 68-year-old offender did not admit his guilt.

In relation to the man, an administrative protocol was drawn up under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation «Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintain peace and security, or exercise the authorities of the Russian Federation of their powers for these purposes»— reported in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 30 to 50 thousand rubles. The materials collected by the police will be submitted to the court for consideration on the merits.
