CrimeaPRESS reports:
An employee of the inquiry department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Leninsky district completed a preliminary investigation of the criminal case under Part 1 of Art. 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in relation to a car wash employee who stole someone else’s car.
It was established that in August of this year, after drinking alcohol at work, a 40-year-old car wash worker unauthorizedly took a Porsche car, which the owner had left for him to wash, and went to buy alcoholic drinks at a nearby bar. On the way, he lost control, incorrectly chose a safe distance and, near house No. 47 on General Ostryakov Avenue, collided with a Volkswagen car driven by a 19-year-old driver who was moving in the same direction. Employees of the State Traffic Inspectorate of Sevastopol who arrived at the scene detained the offender and found that he was intoxicated, exceeding the permissible limit by almost eight times— the details of the story were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
As a result of a traffic accident, the driver of a Volkswagen car and his 20-year-old passenger received injuries of varying severity, who were taken to a medical facility to provide qualified assistance. The owner of the stolen foreign car also suffered material damage in the amount of 500 thousand rubles.
The culprit of the accident was brought to administrative responsibility under Art. 12.8 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Driving a vehicle by a driver who is intoxicated.”
The materials of the criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor’s office will be transferred to the court for consideration on the merits. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
