Krympress reports:
The Sevastopol Interdistrict Environmental Prosecutor’s Office, together with specialists of Severodriannadzor, conducted an audit of the fulfillment of the requirements of the legislation in the field of proceedings of production and consumption.
It was established that on a land plot near city treatment facilities in the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol, the unauthorized placement of production and consumption waste was allowed, which leads to soil pollution. This territory for a long time has been in the unlimited use of the FSBIK «State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve» Chersonesos Tauride «, but measures to eliminate the landfill were not taken by the institution. The area of the polluted site was over 13.5 thousand m2.,-the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol said.
The environmental prosecutor’s office sent a lawsuit to the Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol on the assignment of the obligation to clean the site and bring it into line with the requirements of environmental and sanitary and epidemiological legislation.
The prosecutor’s claim is satisfied. The court decision did not enter into legal force.
The actual elimination of violations of the law is under the control of the environmental prosecutor’s office.
