In Sevastopol, a husband and wife quarreled… Further from the protocol: “and plunged a knife into her chest”

CrimeaPRESS reports:

In Sevastopol, criminal investigation officers detained a local resident who caused serious harm to the health of his wife.

During a domestic conflict, a man plunged a knife into his wife’s chest, causing her serious harm.

The police found that a 30-year-old local resident often abused alcohol and, having once again overdone it, entered into a verbal altercation with her 42-year-old husband. During the conflict, the man decided to intimidate his enraged wife, took a folding knife from his bag and pointed it towards the latter. The woman, being fairly drunk, did not notice the weapon in her opponent’s hands and approached him so close that she was stabbed in the chest area on the right. Realizing that he had caused bodily harm to his wife, the man called her an ambulance— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

According to the results of a forensic medical examination, the bodily injuries inflicted on the woman were classified as grievous bodily harm. During the preliminary investigation, the mechanism of infliction of bodily harm will be established.

Officers of the criminal investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Gagarinsky district arrived at the scene of the incident, detained the suspect and took him to the territorial authority for further proceedings. The investigative department opened a criminal case against him on the grounds of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm”). The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 8 years.
