In Sevastopol, a man robbed cars. Used a special electronic device

It was established that a 40-year-old visitor purchased an electronic device on the Internet that is capable of intercepting and storing the alarm code on the car when it is turned on or off.
With the help of a code grabber, the attacker planned to open the cars of Sevastopol residents and steal money or other material values from them. To do this, the suspect watched potential victims for some time and at the moment when the driver blocked the car, the man intercepted the signal to the electronic device, and then, making sure there were no witnesses, turned off the alarm and stole someone else’s property from the car. Three local residents aged 41 to 44 suffered from the illegal activities of the attacker, who lost a total of 45 thousand rubles— reported the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.
As a result of operational-search measures, the person involved was detained by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol and the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Balaklavsky District with the power support of the SOBR of the Russian Guard. When examining the car on which the attacker was moving, the police found and seized a device for reading the alarm code.
The investigative department initiated a criminal case against the detainee under paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Theft», he faces up to five years in prison. The defendant was taken into custody.
