In Sevastopol, a man will stand trial for trying to fraudulently sell someone else's apartment

In Sevastopol, a preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated under Part 3 of Art. 30 hours 4 tbsp. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and Part 4 of Art. 327 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in relation to a resident of the Republic of Crimea. According to investigators, a 70-year-old Simferopol resident, previously convicted of especially serious crimes, entered into a criminal conspiracy with an unidentified person to commit fraud on an especially large scale for the purpose of illegal profit.

Knowing for sure that the owner of one of the apartments in the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol had not lived for a long time, and having received his full personal data, the accused purchased from persons unidentified during the investigation a fake passport in the name of the owner of the living space and with his photograph.

To search for potential buyers and assist in the accelerated sale of the apartment, the accomplices found two residents of Sevastopol who were not aware that they were participants in the illegal scheme. Posing as the owner of square meters, a Crimean citizen twice tried to sell someone else’s apartment for 5.4 million rubles, but was unable to bring his criminal intent to completion— reported the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol.

As a result of operational-search activities, the illegal activities of the swindler were stopped by employees of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Sevastopol at the time of the purchase and sale transaction.

Currently, the materials of the criminal case with the indictment approved by the city prosecutor’s office have been sent to the court for consideration on the merits. The maximum sanction for the incriminated articles provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.
