In Sevastopol, a memorial plaque was opened to the former director of the school

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The solemn opening of a memorial plaque to the honored worker of education, the former director of the school Galina Ivanitskaya took place at school No. 38. The teacher has worked in an educational institution for more than 30 years, for her undeniable contribution to the development of the education system she was awarded a diploma and an honorary badge “For Merit to the Hero City of Sevastopol”. The memory of Galina Ivanitskaya was honored by representatives of the Department of Education and Science, colleagues, teachers, school directors, graduates of past years and students of school No. 38.

An important event both for the city and for the education system, especially in the Year of the Teacher and Mentor, when we never cease to thank our teachers and celebrate their merits in the education system, in educating the younger generation. Galina Nikolaevna worked in the same school for more than 30 years and did a lot for the development of education. On behalf of the entire staff of the Department of Education, I would like to thank you for taking the time to attend an event in honor of an outstanding person. Many good words sound today, Galina Nikolaevna will always remain in our hearts— the press service of the Government of Sevastopol quotes the Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science Stanislav Feoktistov.

Those present noted the active life position of Galina Ivanitskaya. In addition to teaching and managerial activities, she was a deputy of the city and district councils, participated in the development of the Leninsky district, helped residents in solving various issues: education, improvement, housing and communal services and others.

Galina Nikolaevna is a true friend, colleague, mentor. She is an island of hope on which we — all the directors — relied. No matter how hard it was, we always found support in her person, we could call her at any time of the day or night and get advice. Galina Nikolaevna was not afraid of difficulties, if it was necessary to defend and protect her colleague, she did it openly and sincerely. She was a true friend and a very good person.— notes the director of gymnasium No. 7 Olga Khomyakova.

The event was attended by the husband and daughter of Galina Ivanitskaya, who followed in the footsteps of her mother and also chose pedagogy as her life’s work.

The school for my mother was a second family, and all the students were her children: she loved everyone as if she were her own, she worried about everyone. Being a teacher is a calling— says Yana Ivanitskaya.

Note: this is the first memorial plaque in Sevastopol, opened in honor of the headmaster.
