In Sevastopol, a pensioner is accused of false denunciation. Tried to “teach a lesson” to my alcoholic granddaughter

A 70-year-old local resident contacted the duty station of the Russian Department of Internal Affairs in the Nakhimovsky district with a statement that she had been robbed by her own granddaughter. An elderly woman reported that a relative forcibly took away her cash savings — eight thousand rubles.
For the investigation, the 20-year-old girl was taken by the local police officer to the police department, and at the request of the pensioner, a criminal case was opened under paragraph “g” of Part 2 of Art. 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Robbery”. As part of the preliminary investigation, the police began to clarify all the circumstances and, as a result of the work carried out, established that the applicant had slandered her relative. The pensioner admitted that in this way she decided to teach her granddaughter a lesson, who, together with her husband, abused alcohol— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
The criminal case of robbery was dropped, and the actions of the pensioner were qualified as a knowingly false denunciation, coupled with accusing the person of committing a serious crime. Sanction part 2 art. 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation provides for imprisonment for up to three years.
