In Sevastopol, a sentence was sentenced in a criminal case of fraud and legalization of funds

Agreeing with the position of the state prosecutor of the prosecutor’s office of the Leninsky district of Sevastopol, the court issued a conviction in a criminal case against a 52-year-old resident of the Krasnodar Territory.

She is found guilty under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed using its official position, on an especially large scale) and paragraph “b” of part 4 of Art. 174.1 of the Criminal Code (legalization (laundering) of funds acquired by a person as a result of his crime, using his official position, on a particularly large scale).

It was established that in the period from June 2015 to June 2018, a woman, being the chairman of the board of the credit and conservation cooperative “Savings Union of Crimea”, organized a financial pyramid in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol. She accepted the money of citizens under the guise of concluding contracts for the transfer of personal savings to the cooperative at high interest rates. At the same time, she was not going to pay money taking into account the profit.

As a result, 51 victims were stolen over 25 million rubles. She legalized part of the criminal income in the amount of more than 11 million rubles by making transactions of real estate purchase and sale in 2018 and 2019.

The criminal activity of the chairman of the cooperative was suppressed by employees of the UEBIPK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol. The investigation was conducted by the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.

The Leninsky District Court of the city of Sevastopol, taking into account the opinion of the state prosecutor, imposed a guilty punishment in the form of 5.5 years in prison with the serving of a general regime in a penal colony. Two apartments in Krasnodar and Sevastopol, issued for relatives of the convicted person, are confiscated in the revenue of the state. Another apartment in Krasnodar was seized.

In addition, the court granted the civil lawsuit supported by the prosecutor to the victims to recover the damage caused.
