The prosecutor’s office of the Gagarinsky district controls the progress of the procedural check on the fact of the death of a child born in 2016 on the beach «Omega» on the evening of July 18, 2023.
It was established that the mother of many children was on the beach with 4 minor children. A 7-year-old boy, having clear instructions from his mother not to go deep, as he did not have swimming skills, was in the water near the shore. The woman was briefly distracted by the younger children, at which time the boy began to drown. Rescuers pulled him out of the water and provided first aid. The ambulance workers arrived at the scene for a long time carried out resuscitation measures, but they failed to save the child. During the audit, an assessment will be made of the actions of the mother in the care and supervision of minors, as well as operational services in terms of timely assistance to the child— reported the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol.
The prosecutor’s office will assess the legality of the procedural decision adopted by the investigating body on this fact.
