In Sevastopol, a student was brought to justice for discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation

During the monitoring of the virtual space, employees of the Center for Combating Extremism of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol, together with colleagues from the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, drew attention to the comments of one of the users on several Internet publications.
The comments made by the commentator, which were publicly available, discredited the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. As a result of the activities carried out, law enforcement officers established the identity of the author. He turned out to be an 18-year-old student of one of the universities who came to study from the Republic of Crimea. The young man confessed to the crime— reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
An administrative protocol has been drawn up against the offender under Part 1 of Art. 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation “Public actions aimed at discrediting the use of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in order to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens, maintain peace and security, or the execution by government bodies of the Russian Federation of their powers for these purposes.”
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of an administrative fine in the amount of 30 to 50 thousand rubles. The materials collected by the police will be sent to the Nakhimovsky District Court for consideration on the merits.
