In Sevastopol, a suspect was detained for stealing a music speaker from a store. Was it necessary?

Previously, the 38-year-old suspect had already been prosecuted for theft, extortion, fraud, illegal entry into a home and insulting a government official.
Police officers established that a 38-year-old man entered one of the electronics supermarkets under the guise of a buyer. Having made sure that the store employees were not observing his actions, he took a music speaker worth nine thousand rubles from the display window, and then left the sales area and disappeared. The attacker sold the stolen property to a thrift store and spent the proceeds for his own needs. As a result of operational search activities, employees of the criminal investigation department of the Department of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Gagarinsky district detained a suspect. His involvement in the crime is confirmed by confessions and recordings from CCTV cameras, — reported the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.
A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Part 1 of Art. 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Theft”, he faces up to two years in prison.
