In Sevastopol, an accident with a 14-year-old teenager occurred on the night of July 13-14 this year.
On July 13, 2023 at 10:20 pm on Pobedy Avenue near house No. 2A, a 31-year-old driver of a Kia car, when turning left, did not provide an advantage in traffic and collided with a Kingston pit bike, driven by a 14-year-old teenager who was moving in the opposite direction in its lane straight ahead. As a result of an accident, a minor driver of a pit bike with injuries of varying severity was hospitalized in a city hospital. It is worth noting that the minor did not receive a driver’s license. The accident is under investigation — reported in the press service of the State traffic inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Sevastopol.
The State Traffic Inspectorate reminds that mopeds (scooters) can be driven by persons who have reached the age of 16, have been trained in a driving school and have passed the exams in the traffic police for category M. Exactly the same requirements exist for obtaining category A1. A motorcycle can be driven by persons who have reached the age of 18, who have been trained in a driving school and have passed the exams in the traffic police for category A. In the absence of documents giving the right to drive, children and adolescents on two-wheeled vehicles are prohibited by law from driving on the road. The traffic police of the city of Sevastopol draws the attention of parents, that driving such a type of transport as a moped or scooter without knowledge of traffic rules and driving skills can lead to tragedy. Remember — the road does not forgive mistakes!
