In Sevastopol, after the intervention of the prosecutor's office, two women are paid child benefits

The prosecutor’s office of the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol conducted an investigation at the request of a local resident who is raising two children aged 9 and 12 years.

It has been established that the family belongs to the category of low-income people. In July 2023, the woman applied to the social protection authorities with an application for a monthly payment in connection with the birth and upbringing of a child, but was refused due to the fact that she owned several non-residential premises. In fact, she has ½ share in the right of common shared ownership of several outbuildings necessary to satisfy the household needs of citizens, which is not an obstacle to the assignment of benefits,” noted the press service of the Sevastopol prosecutor’s office.

The district prosecutor’s office submitted a proposal to the manager of the Sevastopol Branch of the Social Fund of Russia to eliminate violations of the law, which was satisfied.

The woman was assigned an allowance in the amount of 11.6 thousand rubles per month for each child. In addition, she received an additional payment for the period from July to November 2023 for two children for a total amount of more than 100 thousand rubles.

Thanks to the intervention of the prosecutor’s office, the Fund reviewed the appeal of another resident of Sevastopol, who applied for the specified payment in June 2023 and was refused on a similar basis. Currently, she has also been given a statutory benefit and has received additional payment.
