In Sevastopol — an all-Russian educational project of the Knowledge Society

At the “Boiling Point” site at Sevastopol State University, a lecture by the Russian Society “Knowledge” was held, which launched the educational project Knowledge.Science in Sevastopol. Its goal is to unite young scientists and provide them with the opportunity to share their unique knowledge throughout Russia. For the most active lecturers, training is provided at the Mashuk Knowledge Center and producing projects. The Knowledge.Science project is being implemented within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology, which runs from 2022 to 2031 by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. As part of the project, leading Russian scientists and their young colleagues tell a large audience about their work in simple and accessible language, introduce them to the country’s achievements, and also share interesting facts from the field of physics, chemistry, biology and other disciplines. Short and engaging presentations also differ in format, including interactive lectures, VR-accompanied performances, master classes, scientific debates, immersive shows and excursions to existing laboratories and research centers.
In Sevastopol, the educational project began with a lecture by Anastasia Syrovets, a junior researcher at the research laboratory “Bioresource Potential of the Coastal Territory” of SevSU, “DNA. The language that programs you.» The speaker told the audience how the main molecule of life, DNA, works, how it programs us and influences our behavior, health and even career. Also during the meeting-lecture, we discussed genetic mutations and their role in evolution.
The goal of the society’s new project “Knowledge” is to show that science is exciting, interesting and, moreover, fashionable. Nowadays, young people have a demand for prompt acquisition of new knowledge and information; the guys are trying to keep abreast of technological trends, innovations, and digital technologies.
