In Sevastopol, an investigation was completed by an accident in which an 83-year-old pedestrian died

The senior investigator of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol completed the investigation of the criminal case against the driver of the car, which violated the traffic rules, which entailed by negligence the death of an elderly man.
The traffic accident occurred on December 8, 2024 at 9 hours 30 minutes near House No. 9 on Pozharov Street in the Leninsky district of Sevastopol. According to investigators, a 55-year-old driver, driving a Nissan passenger car, moving along Pozharova Street, in the area of house No. 9 from Galina Petrova Street in the direction of the rebels at least 68 km/h, at a maximum permitted speed of 60 km/h, did not give way to an 83-year-old pedestrian, crossing the road along an unregulated pedestrian The transition from right to left in the direction of the car, as a result of which he made by negligence a trip to the specified pedestrian. As a result of the accident, the injured elderly man died of injuries in a medical institution.
The audit conducted by the police showed that at the time of the traffic accident, the driver was sober.
As part of the preliminary investigation, the police were interviewed by eyewitnesses of the road accident, a forensic medical, automotive, as well as a comprehensive examination on the study of video recording and circumstances of the traffic accident were appointed and conducted.
The accused admitted his guilt in a crime in full.
In the near future, criminal materials under Part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code with the approved prosecutor’s office of the city of Sevastopol, the indictment will be sent to the court. The sanction of the incriminated article provides for a punishment of imprisonment for up to five years.
