In Sevastopol and Crimea (partially) the power supply was cut off for an hour. Cause
CrimeaPRESS reports:
At 18:05, electricity went out in Sevastopol and part of the Republic of Crimea. The reason for the emergency shutdown was announced by the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev. There was a false activation of gas equipment at the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant, which resulted in the shutdown of two power units. The sharp drop in generation caused a chain reaction throughout almost the entire peninsula.
For just over an hour, consumers in Balaklava, the center of Sevastopol, Fiolent, and the Kazachya and Kamyshovaya bay microdistricts were disconnected. The shutdown also affected parts of the Bakhchisarai, Simferopol districts, Greater Yalta, Simferopol, Kerch, Sak and Saki districts, Feodosia, Leninsky and Dzhankoy districts.
By 19:15, power supply was fully restored. The Crimean and Sevastopol authorities call for understanding of such emergency situations and to trust only official information.
ADDED: According to updated data, as of 19:30 the city of Saki and Saki district (partially) remained without power.
