In Sevastopol, counterfeiters were sent to court. Their «earnings» scheme was simple

CrimeaPRESS reports:

The deputy prosecutor of the city of Sevastopol, Yevgeny Kadamov, approved the indictment in a criminal case against a 000-year-old man and his 21-year-old cohabitant, natives of the Novosibirsk region, who since September 2021 lived in Sevastopol and rented housing here.

They are accused of joint commission of crimes under Part 1 of Art. 26 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (storage, transportation for the purpose of sale and sale of knowingly counterfeit bank notes of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation) and Part 3 of Art. 30 — Part 1 of Art. 186 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempt to store, transport for the purpose of sale and sale of knowingly counterfeit bank notes of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation). In addition, the man is charged under Part 1 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation in the illegal acquisition and storage of narcotic drugs , the press service of the Sevastopol Prosecutor’s Office reported.

According to investigators, in October 2021 a young man and a girl decided to earn money from the sale of counterfeit money. Using the Internet, they remotely purchased 18 counterfeit banknotes with a face value of 5 000 rudders, and then sold them to food delivery services, placing orders for a small amount and getting change in real money.

Thus, the defendants were able to sell banknotes, however, one of the couriers doubted the authenticity of the received bank ticket and turned to law enforcement agencies.

The policemen stopped the criminal activity of malefactors. In the course of operational-search activities, they found and seized the remaining 8 banknotes with a face value of 5 000 rubles from a cache in a forest belt in the Simferopol region of the Republic of Crimea. In addition, at the place of residence of the man, the narcotic drug «salt», which he kept for personal use, was seized.

The investigation was carried out by the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol.

The criminal case with the indictment approved by the prosecutor’s office will be sent to the Gagarinsky District Court of Sevastopol for consideration on the merits.
