In Sevastopol, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations checked what complicates travel on the roads. We started from the Gagarinsky district

There should be no obstacles in the way of salvation. How about in practice? In Sevastopol, employees of the Russian Emergencies Ministry checked the difficulties that special equipment has to face on the roads of the Gagarinsky district.

This time the test was passed not only by the yards in the high-rise building zone, but also by the streets inside the gardening associations. A tanker truck and a ladder truck of the 6th fire and rescue unit tried to pass through them.

The actual problem of city yards is «improvised parking» in the adjoining territories. There are often cars parked in a continuous line. And if a passenger car can still move more or less freely in such conditions, then the drivers of special vehicles have to show resourcefulness, perseverance and emotional endurance. There are times when chaotic parking blocks firefighters’ access to a water source. Since the actions of the personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the event of such interference on the way are not regulated by law, firefighters cannot independently move private vehicles. Precious minutes are spent searching for the owner of the car, explaining the situation and clearing the way. Unfortunately, similar problems were once again revealed in the yards of the Gagarinsky district. Drivers tried to maneuverrescuers said.

But what if the road is completely blocked? During the experiment, vehicles of the emergency department were repeatedly forced to stop moving in front of the barriers. In one of the courtyards, the entrance was blocked by a barrier; using the call button, communication with the duty officer could not be established. On the territory of the private sector, firefighters also faced an unforeseen obstacle: a gate with a lock made direct access impossible. I had to choose alternative routes.

The emergency department conducts such visual experiments systematically, the goal is to identify problems and work out ways to solve them.

The event was held in the form of a methodological lesson with the personnel: in practice, the employees had to navigate in a difficult situation and quickly take measures for the speedy passage. They coped with the assigned tasks. I would like to appeal to the residents and guests of our city, as well as to the management of management companies and gardening associations: do not block the driveways, because your negligence can cost someone — or even yourself — life— noted in the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the city of Sevastopol.
