In Sevastopol, forensic experts identified a dead man with the help of DNA research

CrimeaPRESS reports:

A few days ago, the duty unit of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Gagarinsky District received a message that a skeletonized corpse had been found near Khrustalev Street. With him was a shoulder bag, a mobile phone, a pack of cigarettes and several hundred rubles. Forensic experts took up the case.

During the visit to the scene, it was established that the discovered remains were located on a deserted land plot for about one year and presumably belong to a man who died under unknown circumstances. The necessary investigative actions were carried out at the place of discovery of the corpse, tissue samples were taken for research. Signs of violent death were not revealed , — the details of the case were announced in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sevastopol.

As a result of the DNA examination, specialists from the forensic center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs established the genetic profile of the deceased and checked it against the Federal Database of Genomic Information. It coincided with samples of buccal epithelium, which had previously been provided by officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Gagarinsky district, and belongs to a citizen of the year of birth. Thanks to the capabilities of the DNA laboratory of the ECC of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Sevastopol, the identity of the deceased man was quickly established.

Currently, this fact is under investigation.
