A boxing tournament dedicated to the memory of the hero of his Igor Rusanov took place in the physical education and fitness complex of the village of Verkhnesadovoye. About 80 boxers from sports schools of the city entered the ring — the tournament became a platform not only to identify talented athletes, but also to convey the heroes of the heroes of the younger generation.
Our task is to remember our heroes participating in a special military operation, who gave their lives for our future. Athletes should know the names of fellow countrymen who sacrificed their lives for security, peaceful sky and the right to live in a strong and free country. It is symbolic that the tournament takes place in the Verkhosadovo — in the place where Igor Yuryevich’s childhood and youth passed. Sports and subordinate institutions will continue to assign the names of the heroes of a special operation to sports competitions,-quoted the press service of the Government of Sevastopol, head of the Department of Sports Sergey Reznichenko.
Igor Yuryevich Rusanov was born on September 19, 1986. He studied at the 52nd school of the village of Verkhnesadovaya, then entered the Institute of Nuclear Energy and Industry of the SevU. He underwent military service in Kyiv. He was engaged in boxing, was fond of athletics, sports orientation and tourism.
He came to the special purpose unit not by order, but at the call of the heart. The colleagues say that he always tried to fulfill not only his task, but also to help others. When a special military operation began, Igor went to the combat zone. He served as a machine gunner by car Tiger and took part in reconnaissance operations, his determination and courage manifested themselves in the most difficult war conditions. On September 2, 2022, Igor, fulfilling his duty, died. For the manifested courage, Igor Rusanov was awarded the Order of Courage posthumously.
