In Sevastopol, illegal “aid” to foreigners has been put on stream. The criminal group will go to trial

In Sevastopol, the investigation of a criminal case initiated against four residents of the peninsula has been completed. They are accused of a number of episodes of organizing the illegal stay of foreign citizens in the Russian Federation, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (clause “a”, part 2 of article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The Sevastopol Interdistrict Investigation Department established that in the period from June to October 2022, acquaintances illegally organized the receipt of documents for four foreign citizens giving the right to stay and carry out work activities on the territory of the Russian Federation. The accomplices ensured that foreign citizens had a fictitious place of residence, that they underwent a medical examination without an actual examination by doctors, that they passed an exam on proficiency in the Russian language without checking the minimum level of knowledge, and that they prepared documents for submission to government authorities. The received monetary reward for illegal activities was distributed among accomplices depending on the assigned role— reported the Investigative Committee.
The circumstances of the illegal activities of the defendants and the illegal stay of foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation were revealed in interaction by operational officers of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Sevastopol and the Federal Security Service of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
During the investigation, 14 additional facts were established of fictitious registration of foreign citizens by one of the defendants in a criminal case at their place of residence (Article 322.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The criminal investigation has now been completed. The case materials were sent to the prosecutor’s office for the purpose of studying, signing the indictment and sending the case to court.
