In Sevastopol, more than 16 thousand copies of mussels were sentenced to illegal production

Agreeing with the position of the Sevastopol inter -district environmental prosecutor Dmitry Aralov, who supported the state prosecution in the criminal case, the court convicted two local residents aged 42 and 52 years.
They are found guilty under Part 3 of Art. 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal mining (catch) of aquatic biological resources, using the method of mass extermination of aquatic biological resources, in places of spawning, a group of persons by prior conspiracy with causing especially large damage). It was established that on October 18, 2024, near the berth No. 103 in the Nakhimovsky district of Sevastopol, men made mussels during the spawning period. At the same time, they used a home-made scraper-plow, which is a means of mass extermination of aquatic biological resources. Thus, in the water area of the southern bay, attackers illegally collected over 16 thousand copies of mussels, causing the state damage in the amount of more than 350 thousand rubles,-the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Sevastopol said.
Men loaded Media in the minivan of the Honda-Stepwagon brand and tried to leave the berth, but were detained by employees of the border bodies. It was planned to deliver obtained resources to a pre -rented workshop for further processing, packaging and sales.
The investigation was conducted by the department of inquiry and administrative practice of the FSB of Russia in the Republic of Crimea.
The Nakhimovsky District Court of Sevastopol appointed 2 years in prison with a probation with a trial period of 2 years.
In addition, the court granted the civil lawsuit of the city prosecutor’s office to recover the full amount of damage from the accused.
